The process for selecting open Troy Baseball Executive Board positions is currently underway. Please read this information carefully. Your participation in this process is important!
Who is the Executive Board?
The Troy Baseball Board consists of ten voting members. The five Executive Board members are the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Financial Director.
The additional five voting members are the Director of Commissioners, Director of Equipment, Director of Concessions, Director of Umpires, Director of Grounds, and Director of Publicity.
What Executive Board positions are currently vacant?
The Director of Grounds and Director of Publicity. The Executive Board positions are a two year commitment.
Candidates must have a minimum of two completed seasons of Troy Baseball membership and be in good standing within the organization.
What are the duties of the Executive Board Members?
Director of Grounds – The Director shall be responsible for managing the facility with the exception of the concession stand. The Director shall be responsible for the condition of the playing fields and the general maintenance of the grounds and any machinery. The Director will provide for garbage removal and pay for any hired work accomplished at the field, subject to the approval of the Executive Board.
Director of Publicity - The Director shall be responsible for the composition and distribution of any Troy communications, subject to the advice and control of the Executive Board. The Director shall place such information as necessary in the appropriate journals, to provide due and timely notice of events or accomplishments of interest to Troy Baseball members or the general public.
Are any other non-voting positions open?
The Director of Equipment, Mustang Commissioner, Bronco Commissioner, and Pony Commissioner.
What are the duties of the non-voting positions?
The Director of Equipment shall coordinate and supervise the distribution of equipment, insure all equipment is safe and meets appropriate standards, and properly store all equipment. The Director will
coordinate the inventory of all equipment and supplies with the appropriate executive board member.
The Commissioners shall coordinate the evaluation and selection of players & teams, scheduling of
games & tournaments, and handling any questions from managers, parents, or players.
How are the candidates elected?
Any other person or persons wishing to run for an Executive Board position must inform the Executive Board in writing, and note the name, and position desired.
Executive Board nominations shall be presented to the Troy Board at any scheduled Board meeting with the consent of the nominees. Any Troy Board position with more than 1 nominee will be elected by written ballot vote at a Troy Board meeting. Any unopposed positions may be accepted as nominated.
